2/8/06 Class Org Meeting Minutes
Attendees: Locomotive, Christian, Craic, Clewless, Mobetter
The team continued to cover the all important sail rules:
The team is now working on several ideas to resolve the issue of sail cost control -
- the "class cloth" concept - is proving to be not too cost effective
- put some sail tech limits --team is split 50% / 50%:
- material limit set at aramids vs;
- material limit set at CF. We will highlight this as a voting item when provision rules are finalized
- Also discussed whether the (proposed) 2 spins on board can be used tactically (reacher/runner)or just as a spare (both are AP). We are quite divided on this one as well. So it will be a voting item as well.
- We motioned for class sail purchase limits - sail count excludes
the delivery sails
- Year 1 : 3 sails
- Year 2 : 2 sails
Repeats for subsequent years . Owners of boats resold will start at year 1.
Other: We are targeting to wrap up a set of provisional rules in time for the launch of the first few US boats.
Motion submitted by Craic to have the entire group of depositors to vote on the Provision Class Rules when time comes. Then after the first 50 hulls are contracted and we have 50 members, the class will then formally ratify a set of Class Rules according to the provisions of the Class Constitution.
We adjourned after 1.5 hrs of discussion.
Again, thanks to all attendees for their contributions.
