3/22/06 Class Org Meeting Minutes
Attendees: SailSD, Christian, Clean, Clewless, Mobetter, Craic
The team discussed some of the inputs from sailmakers collected by Craic (Thanks!) -- those inputs are posted under its own thread. It was obvious that even our own rules team is slightly more "progressive thinking" than some of the sailmakers.
Much of the open sail issues remain open. Items with team consensus and will be proposed are:
- Mainsail - one on board only, 5 battens (minimum 3 full), batten spacing (not required to be equally spaced)
- Jib & Main material - no higher tech than aramids is where we are gravitating based on our sail sizing.
- Storm jib of <75% LP is excluded from sail count.
- Spin cloth is restricted to Nylon & 0.75 oz or higher
- Jib to have max of 3 vertical battens but positive roach on leech is excluded to extend sail life.
We adjourned after 1.5 hrs of very lively discussion.
